A boy died. They believe it was from abuse.

I think it is very easy to forget the pain and anger in this world. No wonder we hide in our communities away from such places.

How many times do we see a child acting out and become frustrated and upset? What kind of parents do they have. Well maybe one is a monster. Maybe the other suffered through years of abuse alone. Maybe the child is trying to cope as best he can in an abusive situation.

The world is broken so why are we surprised when it leads to abuse? A boy is dead. What if he had actually been to your church? What if he was a real handful? What if he didn’t want to listen or do what he was told? What if teachers struggled?

He is now dead. What does that say to us? Would we be more worried about how the little boy acted? Would we even think of what might cause him to act out that way?

If we look at the world like Jesus did what would we see? A child acting out who needed to get back in line or would we see a child who is hurt trying to get attention, wanting someone to know his hidden pain?

Which would it be?

What if he is already in your church?
