What do you think about this?

March 7, 2008

An ABBA Bible Study. That’s right, a study based on the popular music of that Swedish super group. You could take such powerful songs as S.O.S. or Super Trouper and base your study on these great tunes. I mean if Andy Griffith can have a study why not?

So come on, help out by giving your song and the study/topic/direction you would take the work. With such great songs as Chiquitita, Mamma Mia, Waterloo, The Name of the Game and Take a Chance on Me, where could you go wrong?

Granted more conservative groups may not like the dancing references and songs, you may want to avoid Dancing Queen, but hey, give it your best shot. Let’s call this an Open Source ABBA Experiential Bible Study cohort. I especially like the Cohort part.

I listen to the HTB Sunday podcast from the UK and the guy named Nicky has a killer Abba story that requires a long set up and ultimately would not be funny if I tried to write it here…but it’s awesome.

I guess that comment wasn’t much help was it?

I was trying to think of a Sanford and Son bible study curriculum.

Lesson 1 “Dancing Queen, or What Not To Do.

Since this song mentions a tamborine, one could easily seg into a lesson on instrumental music! Verily, Nadab and Abihu would have loved ABBA.
